A. Lee McWhorter has been a free mason bricklayer and trowel man traveling around the globe building masonry things.Also as an explorer traveling to Holland, France, the Austrian Alps, Sweden, Germany, Singapore, Saigon [aka Ho Chi Minh City}, Tay Ninh Province, The Cao Dai Temple {where lee prayed to come home in one peice from the armed conflict in south viet nam during 1967], the United States, Mexico, Guatamala and the town of esquipulas with the basilica housing the statue and shrine of the Black Christ {a story for another day in itself}, Honduras and the ancient mayan city of Copan [perhaps the most beautiful masonry ever created from stone any where in the world].
 Other mayan sites that lee has explored and visited include Tikal, unamed and newly discovered  ruins in the myan mountains of Belize, Panajachel and lake atitlan in the highlands of Guatamala, Chichenitza and palanque and many other unknown sites in the Yucatan of Mexico, and many other Aztec, toltec, olmec sites along the gulf coast.
 Lee lived in the state of Michoacan in the town of Uruapan while an expatriated American. Uruapan is known for avacado production, an extinct volcano, and the national park Barranca de Capatitzio a really beautiful water park.
 After returning to the United States Lee started a new life and raised a family, started an herb farm, got into Bio-dynamic farming, co-founded the Josiphine Porter Institute for applied Bio-Dynamics in Woolwine Virginia, was written about in the book, “Secrets of the Soil” by Peter Thompkins and Christopher Bird. He is waiting for the movie and record so he can say he is in books,and film, and song. I put sailing on hold in order to join Maureen [mo] in starting an organic herb farm here in Virginia. Peter Thpmpkins wrote about the la dama maya herb farm and Mo and I, and our bio-dynamic compost in chapter two of the secrets of the soil. A family came along next so sailing went from on hold to the back burner. But I never stoped thinking about the adventure so after 30 years of thinking and scheming, with a little planing, about sailing I found myself in the position of an eagle with an empty nest. {another whole story watch the pages if you want to learn more} I have, over the last 30 years, developed an agenda for the last, 20 or so, years of my life. My agenda includes but is not limited to sailing on the puffin around the east coast at first then more….. You could safely say I’m probably dreaming but in order to sail you first have to have a boat…. then a plan….. then a destination…..

 My agenda has a few burners not only do I want to sail, I want to document the adventure in film and song so a video and sound track are on another burner. Over the years I have been filming public meetings practicing with the cameras and my editing program and I have accumulated over 300 hours worth of tape I can re-record over. Naturally in order to  make a movie you need camaras and film. If the movie is about the sea you need ocean, just like you need a boat for sailing.

So as the agenda unfolds I have a boat, 3 cameras, 300 hours of film, and an idea. Now I need the crew and the starz.

The next step is to get the boat back in the water and start the process of first sailing then filming and getting experience with both.
